  22. as long as the answering machine is connected to the PHONE port of the 
  23. modem, the modem will disconnect the ans. machine.  Also, the modem will 
  24. detect DTMF tones as well as CNG tones.  There is a well written document 
  25. on our FTP site (called edr.txt) which describes the most common 
  26. applications of EDR, as well as the concepts behind it.

  29. in Germany.

  35. yes, you should be able to set the EDR Sregisters to answer on CNG tone, 
  36. and use that in conjunction with the standalone fax receive feature.
