- as long as the answering machine is connected to the PHONE port of the
- modem, the modem will disconnect the ans. machine. Also, the modem will
- detect DTMF tones as well as CNG tones. There is a well written document
- on our FTP site (called edr.txt) which describes the most common
- applications of EDR, as well as the concepts behind it.

- BTW: EDR should work in Germany too.. its DR that is probably not offered

- yes, you should be able to set the EDR Sregisters to answer on CNG tone,
- and use that in conjunction with the standalone fax receive feature.
